Symphony in the Flint Hills, Inc. has been designated a 50lc(3) non-profit organization under the Internal Revenue Service regulations. Dozens of volunteers, including our 11 member Board of Directors, are working tirelessly to produce this series of concerts. Paid staff members include Executive Director, Office Manager, Bookkeeper, Site Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.
Ticket sales cover approximately 48% of costs. The concert and prairie education activities are being underwritten by generous gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Any proceeds over and above the expenses of the 2010 concert will be used by Symphony in the Flint Hills, Inc. as “seed” money for the Sixth Annual Concert in 2011.
